Who we are
The Primer Wand, LLC (“we,” “us”) operates this website (theprimerwand.com) and sells the Primer Wand primer applicator.
What we collect
- Order info — name, shipping address, email, phone (optional), and what you ordered. Processed through our Shopify checkout.
- Payment info — handled by Shopify Payments and Stripe. We never see your full card number.
- Site analytics — anonymous usage stats via PostHog and Vercel Analytics (pages visited, clicks, device type). No fingerprinting.
- Error monitoring — Sentry captures crash reports and JavaScript errors. These can include the URL you were on, your browser version, and limited interaction data — enough to reproduce and fix the bug. No payment data, no personal messages.
- Email if you opt in — for order updates, restock alerts, and the occasional product email. Unsubscribe in one click from every email we send.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data to anyone.
- We don't share your data with advertising networks for cross-site behavioral targeting.
- We don't use dark patterns to keep you on our email list — opt-in is explicit, opt-out is one click.
- We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13 (COPPA). If you believe we have, email us and we'll delete it.
Email marketing — how opt-in works
We send marketing emails only to people who explicitly opted in (a checked box at checkout, a signup form, or by replying to a previous marketing email). We comply with CAN-SPAM: every marketing email identifies us, includes a physical address, and has a working one-click unsubscribe.
How long we keep your data
- Order records — 7 years (US tax and warranty obligations).
- Email list — until you unsubscribe.
- Site analytics — 12 months in PostHog, then aggregated/anonymized.
- Error reports — 90 days in Sentry, then automatically purged.
Security
We use reasonable industry-standard safeguards — TLS for everything, Shopify/Stripe for payment processing (both PCI-DSS Level 1), access controls on internal tools. No system is perfectly secure; if we ever suffer a breach affecting your data, we'll notify you and the relevant authorities within the timeframes the law requires.
Cookies
Shopify and our analytics tools use a small number of cookies to keep your cart working and measure aggregate site usage. You can clear them anytime from your browser settings.
Your rights
You can request a copy of, correction to, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. Email hello@theprimerwand.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
California residents (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to know what personal information we collect about you, to delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of it. We do not sell or share your personal information. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@theprimerwand.com with the subject line “CCPA request.”
EU / UK residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection regarding your personal data. Our lawful basis is contract (to fulfill your order) and legitimate interest (to improve the site and fight fraud). Same channel for any request.
Changes to this policy
We'll update the “Effective” date above when we change anything material, and email registered customers when changes affect how we handle your data. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new version.
